From the Principal

As we move through what has been a full and eventful Term Three so far, it’s good to reflect on the many events and activities that have brought our community together. From academic milestones to creative showcases and pastoral initiatives, the term has been rich with opportunities for students to grow, lead, and shine.

Highlights So Far

A particular highlight was our recent Awards Assembly, where we celebrated the outstanding achievements of students across a range of academic, cultural, and service domains. The assembly served as a live example of the many forms that achievement can take, affirming the diverse talents and contributions of students across the College. It was a powerful reminder that success looks different for everyone, and I encourage all students to continue striving towards their personal goals with confidence and determination.

Other highlights to mention include the Year 10 Course Counselling sessions held in Weeks Two and Three. These sessions provide students with valuable guidance as they consider their Year 11 subject selections and future pathways. With support from staff and families, students engaged thoughtfully in planning for the next stage of their educational journey.

The Catholic Performing Arts Festival also commenced this term, with Lumen Christi students participating in the liturgical dance, rock bands, woodwind, piano and choral singing categories. I have no doubt that our students will showcase their creativity and represent the College with enthusiasm.

We were also pleased to welcome back Paul Dillon, who spoke to our senior students about drug and alcohol awareness. His engaging and informative presentation offered practical strategies and insights, empowering students to make informed and responsible decisions in their lives beyond school.

A Common Thread

What ties all these experiences together is our shared commitment to nurturing the whole person—academically, spiritually, creatively, and socially. Whether through awards that affirm excellence, counselling that supports future planning, performances that celebrate talent, or talks that promote wellbeing and personal safety, each contributes to the formation of confident, well-informed and capable young people.
