NAIDOC Week Barbecue
Thank you to all the students who indulged in an emu, crocodile or kangaroo burger during NAIDOC Week in Week 1. It turns out that not everything “tastes like chicken”, one student remarked while eating a crocodile burger. This barbecue was one small way that the school celebrated Australia’s Indigenous heritage that is alive and well at the school. There were also some painting activities and Indigenous games.
Laptops and Damage
We kindly remind parents and guardians that if a student's school laptop is damaged (especially if another student may be involved) it’s important that the incident is reported to the school as soon as possible.
Prompt reporting helps us investigate effectively and ensures that any financial responsibility for the damage can be properly assigned. Unfortunately, if damage is reported a week, or in some cases a month after it occurs, it becomes very difficult to determine who was responsible. In these cases, the cost may fall to the student the device was assigned to, even if they weren’t at fault.
Please report any damage as soon as possible.
Uniforms
If a student is out of uniform in the school, they are expected to bring a note from home (or have their parents/guardians text or call the school). They should then collect a 'Uniform Pass' from the school office before school starts. If they do both of these things they will rarely be given a detention. If they do not have a note from home, then a detention is likely.
