Queensland Schools Orienteering

Grace and Ben have been selected for the Queensland Orienteering team!

We’re proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Toogoolawah SHS students Grace and Ben, who recently competed at the 2025 Queensland Schools Orienteering Championships (QSOC) held in the South Burnett region.

Grace placed 3rd in the Senior Girls Sprint event while Ben came 2nd in the Junior Boys Sprint, showcasing their skill, stamina and strategic navigation across challenging school and forest terrains. Competing across multiple formats including sprint, mass start and long distance, their performances stood out among a strong field of young athletes from across Queensland.

Following these impressive results and consistent performances across the championship season, both Grace and Ben have been selected in the Queensland Schools Orienteering Team to represent our state at the Australian Schools Orienteering Championships in Brisbane and Ipswich this September (27 Sept – 5 Oct).

Selection for the Queensland team is highly competitive and is based on performance across 10 sanctioned selection events.

Grace will join the Senior Girls squad, while Ben has earned a place as a reserve in the Junior Boys team, a remarkable feat for both students.

We are incredibly proud of Grace and Ben for their hard work and commitment to the sport of orienteering, and we wish them all the best as they prepare to compete on the national stage!
