What's happening in the Library?

What happened in Term 2...

Chris Kennett Visit

Bendigo Illustrator, Chris Kennett, came to visit our school on Wednesday 20th May. During that time, Chris had sessions with students from Grade 1 up talking about his illustrations and books he has worked on then together they created a masterpiece! Students made their own piece and Chris created a collaborative piece and these have now been framed and are on display in the library.

National Simultaneous Storytime

On Wednesday 27th May at 12pm, students took part in National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS), joining schools across Australia and New Zealand to enjoy a shared reading of Luna Roo. This year we participated and read Luna Roo alongside over 2.28 Million other participants.

Overdue Books

Overdue notices will be sent home next week. Please take some time over the holidays to search for any missing books. Currently there are over overdue books at the cost of over $2000. Support in reducing these numbers is appreciated, allowing funds to be used for purchasing new titles rather than replacing missing texts.

Term Three

There are lots of exciting things happening in Term 3.

Book Week is in Term 3 with the theme of Symphony of Stories. We will be celebrating with a parade on Thursday 27th August. Details from School Council will follow.

The Blurbs will be performing again joining us at 9:15 am on Friday 28th August.

More details to follow on Compass as we get closer to the date.

Scholastic Book Fair is arriving in Term 3 on Monday 17th of August until Friday 28th August. The first week will be for browsing for students. Parents/Carers will be able to purchase from Monday 24th to Friday 28th August before and after school. Times will be confirmed prior to these dates via Compass.
