Welcome back to another exciting year at Breaksea! It has been fantastic to see everyone return, and we extend a special welcome to our new Years Nine and Ten students. Their bright and lively presence has brought tremendous energy to the house, and we're thrilled to have them as part of our boarding family.

A particularly warm welcome goes to our four new students: Morgan Chatfield and Sassie Doohan (Year Eleven), Milan Muller (Year Ten), and Maddison Fidler (Year Nine). It has been wonderful getting to know each of them, and it's great to see them immersing themselves in sports and extracurricular activities already.

Leaders' Induction Ceremony

We recently attended the Leaders' Induction Ceremony, celebrating three of our exceptional boarders as Year Twelve leaders in the school: Chloe Climie (Boarding Captain), Mariella Somerscales (Baudin Captain), and Amy Medway (School Captain). We are confident they'll lead with integrity and enthusiasm throughout the year, inspiring those around them.

Year Twelve Ball

Paul and I had the privilege of attending the Year Twelve Ball, which was a stunning evening. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying each other's company—whether chatting over a delicious meal or tearing up the dance floor. The students looked breathtaking, but you can see that yourself in the attached photos!

Fun, Friendship & Celebrations!

Recreation activities have been in full swing, with plenty on offer. One of the highlights so far has been our trip to Gull Rock last weekend, which was nothing short of magical. Sun, surf, and great company made for an unforgettable day!

We also celebrated the birthdays of Matilda Chitty and McKayla Ettridge. Thank you to Tilly Norrish for making the cake and everyone who helped make their day special!

We're also wishing our Year Nine students good luck for their camp this week—we're sure They are having a fantastic time. Year Tens, get ready—you'll head off to camp in Week Six!

Housekeeping Reminders

Weekend Leave Requests: Please ensure Reach leave requests are submitted as early as possible, no later than Thursday evening for the upcoming weekend. The approval process takes time, and last-minute requests can lead to logistical challenges, especially with bus arrangements.

Adjusting to Change

With change comes a period of adjustment, and it's completely normal to experience a range of emotions as we settle into the new school year. This is especially true for those starting boarding and a new school. Remember, sometimes we have to ride the highs and lows of the waves to reach the horizon. We are incredibly proud of how everyone has settled into Breaksea, and we're here to support you every step of the way.

We are very excited to announce that we took ownership of a new air hockey table this week. This is a fantastic addition to the activities we can play in boarding when the weather is not being so kind.

As always, please feel free to email, text, or call if you ever need anything.

Have a fantastic and well-earned weekend, everyone!
