Welcome Back to a fresh New Year in Senior Boys Boarding at Eclipse House

Welcome back to all our boys and families. As we step into this new chapter of welcoming our Year Nines into the Senior Boarding House, we are thrilled to share some fantastic updates and improvements that are making the boys' residence more comfortable and enjoyable.

Exciting New Changes in the House

We have been busy over the holidays enhancing our facilities to provide a better living experience. Here are some of the latest upgrades:

  • New Gym Equipment – Stay fit and active with our upgraded gym, now equipped with a F10 functional trainer and weights to support the boys with strength and development for their sports and personal fitness goals.
  • Outdoor Setting Revamp – We are enjoying having the girls and boys relaxing in the fresh air with our new outdoor seating areas, perfect for socialising and relaxation while others shoot hoops, play some backyard cricket or ride their bikes over the jumps set up in the landscape dirt piles.
  • Upgraded Entertainment – Our house is broken up into zoned areas now and feature some new TV setups, ensuring students can unwind with Apple TV and their favourite shows and movies in a more comfortable setting.
  • Zoning of Areas – We have created dedicated zones to help our boys balance study, relaxation, year groups and social time more effectively.
  • Kitchen Enhancements – Our kitchen has been refreshed with the latest air fryers and a high-quality coffee machine, making mornings and evening times a great place to socialise and catch up on conversations. Sally also is loving the fresh coffee she is greeted with by Mat Cant or Mr Keatch each morning.
  • Entrance – we have installed a large TV as you enter the house, IT is working with us so we can show images and videos of what the boys are getting up to.  A new monitor for REACH was also installed to assist the boys in signing in and out for activities around the campus.
  • Canvas Prints – I have found an excuse to purchase a new tool! A laser, which the boys have seen in action, assisted me in getting the pictures to hang all at the same height in each of the corridors, so the boys can feel at home.
  • Shower Heads – Feedback from the boys via Eden Bairstow was to have an improved shower head for the bathrooms. Harry Greenup was keen for all boys to have this not just the seniors, so six have been replaced.

Staff

Our team this term in Eclipse House consists of Mrs Sally Mellows, Mr Myles Cuthbert, Mr Matthew Ferreira, Mr Greg Mackay and a new staff member joining our team is Mr Jacob Parker who is studying to be a doctor in the regional program in Albany. We are grateful to also welcome Handre De Bruin from South Africa joining our team this year as a Gap student.

The staff have all commented on how calm and relaxed the house vibe is. Our house themes are around Trust, Respect and Accountability. We are all committed to making the Boarding House a home away from home, and we hope these improvements enhance your son’s daily experience. We look forward to another fantastic term together and can't wait to see our boys develop and thrive in these surroundings at Senior Boarding House - Eclipse House in 2025
