Writing

For writing, children will be creating short written and spoken texts, focusing on narrative and information report text structures. Students will explore narrative text types by investigating their core elements, including characters and settings, and practice the art of retelling stories.
Throughout the term, they will develop their sentence-structure skills by writing simple sentences, expanding on their ideas, and combining two simple sentences to create compound structures. Additionally, students will develop their grammar skills by checking for the correct understanding of prepositions and adverbs, and strengthening their ability to identify both the subject and the actions within a sentence.
We will continue to work on handwriting in both our reading and writing lessons.
