Welcome to Grade One

Term 3 

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to Term 3! We hope you’ve all had a safe and enjoyable holiday with your families? 

We are excited to continue our learning journey with our Grade 1 students. This term, we will continue to provide engaging and supportive learning experiences across all areas, including our Curriculum units, Literacy, and Numeracy. We will focus on building strong foundations in reading, writing, and number skills, while nurturing each child’s confidence, independence, and love of learning. We will also continue to promote our school values of respect, resilience, and safety, encouraging students to make positive choices, support one another, and take pride in their learning.

Thank you for your continued support with home learning. Please encourage your child to practise their decodable passages throughout the week and enjoy reading their library or free-choice books on other nights. A reminder that home learning folders are to be returned each Monday so students can receive their new decodable passage. Please note that a Compass notification will also be sent weekly, outlining the new sound focus that aligns with your child’s decodable passages and home learning activities.
