Nyumbar Cultural Education Program 

22 August at St Patrick’s College Sutherland

Last week eight St Aloysius students were able to represent the College and immerse themselves in a day of culture. The aim of the day was to foster a deep understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal traditions. Nyumbar Aboriginal Education facilitated the day, which began with a smoking ceremony and traditional ochre face paint. Students participated in a range of workshops, with boys being introduced to playing the didgeridoo, and all students taking part in an art workshop, traditional jewellery making and traditional dance.
