Leader of Year 12 Wellbeing

Mr Peter Robertson

On behalf of Year 12, I would like to express my gratitude to all the teachers and support staff who have supported our cohort throughout our senior school journey. As we approach the end of our formal schooling, I would like to briefly speak about this post- Trials period and the excitement of finishing our secondary education. Most of us have been with each other since the start of Year 7, whether it be from OLM or DLS, and we are here now in Year 12 reaching the finish line. At the end of the day, however, each memory counts right now. These are the times we will reflect fondly on well into the future.

I can say that during our HSC Trials, the majority of us were faced with immense pressure, especially those who sat 3 hour exams for the first time. But we prevailed. I believe we should all be proud of this achievement as the effort that everyone put in from the practice papers, palm cards, revision notes and late night studying, all showed that we can achieve anything if we put our mind to it.

As school is coming to an end, the cycle that we’ve been in for the past 13 years of waking up, getting ready and heading off to school will be no more. Days will feel weird, almost like something is missing, but the positive is that it's a new journey. Some of us will go to university, TAFE, a full time job, travel or take a gap year but whatever it is, look at it as something to look forward to and embrace. The next chapter of our now adult lives!

Once again, thank you for all the encouragement during Years 11 and 12, and the sacrifices the teachers have made to provide us with the best possible education. Despite the excitement of finishing school and the possibilities of life ahead, we will really miss St Aloysius College, Cronulla.
