Year 6 News

Dear Families,

In Year 6, we’ve been diving into a range of exciting learning opportunities. Students have spent the past week finishing off their analytical essays in response to the text ‘The One and Only Ivan’. The quality of the work is very high and we look forward reading the finished product.

In Maths, students have been working on applying their understanding of percentages, decimals and fractions to a range of chance experiments.

Meanwhile in Investigations, students have conducting debates in the format of a parliamentary debate, to gain a deeper understanding of the law making process. Students are currently engaged in mini election campaigns, where they work in groups to create some advertising and slogans that will get them votes from their peers.

Students have had an action packed final week of school, with a visit from the police to discuss cyberbullying, graduation photos and the house spirit day.

Week 2 next Term is our 5-6 School Camp. We will be sending out some information about what you need to bring on the camp in the near future.

Please pack a healthy fruit or vegetable snack everyday.
Please bring a drink bottle to school each day
Students have reminded to fill in their dairy when they read, teachers are checking diaries every day.
Students should be reading every night for at least 15 - 20 minutes as well as completing at least 1 home learning task
