Dear Families, 

As we come to the end of Term 3, we would like to congratulate our Year 6 students on all they have achieved this term! We are so proud of their hard work, growth, perseverance and enthusiasm throughout the term.

A special congratulations to our Year 6 Girls Basketball Team and Year 6 Cricket Team, who both made it through to the finals! What a fantastic achievement and a wonderful reflection of their teamwork, commitment and sportsmanship. Well done, Year 6, and enjoy a well-deserved break!

Exciting news! In Week 3, we will welcome author Adam Wallace to our school community to share all things books and writing! We can’t wait for this fun and inspiring visit!

Learning For Next Term:

Religious Education: Next term in Religious Education, students will continue learning about how we can become stewards of God’s creation. 

English: Next term in English, students will continue reading Can You See Me? They will explore the characters, themes and ideas in the novel while developing their reading and writing skills.

Mathematics: Next term in Mathematics, students will focus on mathematical reasoning. They will explain their thinking, make connections and use different strategies to solve problems. 

Performing Arts: In Performing Arts next term, students will continue refining and rehearsing their Graduation choreography. They will focus on performing with accuracy, timing and expression as they work towards a confident and polished final performance.

Auslan: In Auslan, students will continue to develop their confidence in using signs, communicating with others and sharing signed stories.

Social & Emotional Learning: In SEL, students will begin the term by revisiting The St Thomas Way and our expectations around safety, respect and learning. They will reflect on how these expectations help create a positive and supportive school environment.

What you can do to help your child at home

• Encourage your child to read for at least 20 minutes each day and discuss the characters, events and themes in their book.

   

  Important Classroom Reminders:

• Fidget Toys

  We kindly ask that students do not bring fidget toys to school unless their use is a planned adjustment in consultation with Allied Health Professionals. Students who bring fidget toys without an approved adjustment will be asked to place them in their school bag for the remainder of the day to take home. We appreciate your support in encouraging your child to leave fidget toys at home.

• Please ensure that you are labelling all your child's belongings.
• 'No hat, no play' expectation will beginning of Term 4.

• Thursday, 8th October - Year 6 Graduation Photos 
• Tuesday, 13th October - St Peter’s Year 7 Transition Visit @ STAPS 9.30 am (future St Peter’s students only)
• Wednesday, 14th October - Summer Division Sport Finals
• Wednesday, 9th December - Year 6 Graduation (5 pm to 7 pm)
• Thursday, 10th December - Final day of school for Year 6 students
