Social Media Ban for Under

The Federal Government through the eSafety Commissioner is placing age related social media restrictions on the following services:

• Facebook
• Instagram
• Kick
• Reddit
• Snapchat
• Threads
• TikTok
• Twitch
• X (formerly Twitter)
• YouTube

More services may be added to this restricted list in the future.

These services are not restricted:

• Discord
• GitHub
• Google Classroom
• LEGO Play
• Messenger
• Pinterest
• Roblox
• Steam and Steam Chat
• WhatsApp
• YouTube Kids

Attendance Matters

The NSW Government aims to significantly boost student attendance, targeting an average rate of 88.8% by 2027, up from around 87.8% in 2023.

In 2025, McCarthy’s attendance rate is in line with the target 2027 state rate of 88.8%, and half of our students have a rate equal to or greater than 90%. It is anticipated that these results will continue to improve next year with more students attending school each day.
