STEM - National Science Week

Recently the students at St Roch's participated in National Science Week. This year's theme "Seeds of science: Nurturing knowledge for all," saw our students focused on curiosity, inquiry, and growing shared scientific understanding. During STEM Lessons students planted seeds, explored the effects of light on growth and made salt crystals as a way of modelling how knowledge grows from the smallest seed.
Our science week event ended with the first St Roch's Science Spectacular. During this whole school event our Year 6 leaders conducted simultaneous experiments in each class to spark joy and curiosity in science. This event would not have been possible without our terrific STEM Leaders, Luka and Conner, who helped plan and organise the event.
The excitement was felt around the school and we look forward to seeing what our budding St Roch's scientists get up to next!
