Community Engagement

Shining our Light in the Community - Yr 6 Mecwacare Visits
On Monday I had the privilege of visiting Mecwacare with the Year 6 students. for the first time. Although this was my first time, the Year 6 students have been visiting Mecwacare each fortnight throughout year as part of a community service initiative.
I was incredibly proud to witness the students being so caring and attentive of the residents. They have established lovely relationships with the residents and the residents were so pleased to welcome them into their game of Bingo! Lots of fun was had especially when the Year 6 students were invited to be a 'caller' during the different rounds of Bingo. The staff at Mecwacare were full of praise for the respectful manner in which our students conduct themselves and their support of the residents and staff during these visits. Thank you to Miss Allen for organising this wondering learning opportunity.
Father's Day Stall
On Wednesday the students from Prep to Year 6 were super excited to purchase a gift for their Dads at the Father's Day Stall. A huge thanks to the Year 5& 6 P & F Reps, Jess M, Jess N and Tahnee for all of the preparations prior to and on the day to make this a success. And a very big thank you to their support crew on the day Steph and Maria. I know that there will be some very happy Dads on Father's Day on the 6th of September.
Being Sun Smart at St Roch's
As UV levels have reached 3 it is time for all staff and students to wear hats outside. Thank you to all parents for supporting St Roch's to be a sun smart school!
