Dear Families,
Welcome to Issue 14 for 2026 of our iNewsletter! We hope this newsletter continues to keep you up to date with all the news, events and learning that happens at St Roch's.
Book Week - A love of reading at St Roch's!
Book Week 2026 brought our school community together this morning in the most vibrant way as we celebrated this year’s theme A Symphony of Stories. From classic tales to modern favorites, the creativity on display during our annual parade was nothing short of extraordinary.
A massive thank you goes to our dedicated parents, staff and incredible students who poured so much time, effort and imagination into their costumes. We extend a very special thank you to our Literacy/Numeracy Leader, Rachel Gray, whose tireless work behind the scenes made the entire event run so seamlessly. Seeing the pages of our staff favourite book 'Giraffes Can't Dance' come to life with such detail, humor and enthusiasm made this year's showcase one to remember. Thank you to everyone, especially Rachel for making our school parade a truly magical celebration of reading, for her work with the Book Swap that provides books to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and to close the day with an entertaining Book Week performance for all students!

Congratulations to Prep on their very first Book Week Parade!!
WE DID IT!
St. Roch’s won for the month of August at Grill’d Chadstone shopping centre! Thanks to everyone who went in and supported us, we received $300 which will go towards valuable resources for our kids.
Thank you to Nadine Guiney for setting this opportunity up for us and all those in our community who supported this initiative!!!
Father's Day - Happy Father's Day!
We look forward to welcoming our dads and special person into our classrooms on Friday 4 September from 8.30am and to enjoy breakfast together in the hall from 9.00am. Look out for some special entertainment in the hall!! Thank you to Jess White and Sarah Iwaniw for all their coordination for this special event.
Grandparents Donations to the Library - Thank you!!
A big thankyou to all the grandparents of St Roch's children who kindly purchased over a total of $1600 worth of books, on St. Roch's Grandparents day. This is truly an amazing effort of your kindness and generosity to our school. These books will be available for the children to borrow next week.
We have increased the total amount of books in our library by 84 books.

Little Roch Stars Pre-Prep Sessions
Come along to our last session of Little Roch Stars for this term on Friday 11 September from 8.30am until 9.30am with Toni Allen (Early Childhood Educator and our very own Year 6 Classroom Teacher) and Alison Swift (a wealth of experience as a Learning Support Officer).

Art Show - 9 October 2026 - Save the Date!
We are absolutely buzzing with excitement as we look forward to this year’s upcoming Art Show hosted and carefully curated by Mrs Anne Pullen! Centred around the magical theme of "Light and Illuminating," our school community is set to be dazzled by the sheer creativity on display. Our talented students have been incredibly busy creating breathtaking artwork that captures the essence of brilliance, explores how light interacts with the world around us, and shines a bright spotlight on their unique artistic voices. From vibrant uses of color to brilliant, glowing masterpieces, their hard work truly embodies the theme. We cannot wait to welcome you all to this spectacular showcase and let our students' creativity truly shine!
