Our Beautiful Grounds at The Gap State High School

The grounds of The Gap State High School are a point of pride for our whole community. Set within a beautiful natural environment, our expansive campus provides students with the space and opportunity to rest, recharge and connect with nature throughout the school day. These open, green areas play an important role in supporting student wellbeing, offering calm and welcoming spaces to relax during break times.

Recent additions near the library have further enhanced our outdoor spaces. Brand-new seating areas with tables and shaded zones provide students with comfortable places to gather, socialise, read or enjoy their lunch. These thoughtfully designed spaces have quickly become popular meeting points, blending functionality with the surrounding natural landscape.

Our oval is currently looking lush and green, offering plenty of room for students to run, play and be active. Alongside this, the school features a large quadrangle that supports a variety of activities, including much-loved games of handball. The external basketball courts are popular during break times as are the brightly coloured table tennis tables located around the buildings.  With many native trees and greenery across the campus, the school remains well shaded and respectful of the unique and beautiful environment that The Gap is known for.

We are fortunate to have well-maintained grounds that are kept clean, tidy and welcoming thanks to the dedication of our wonderful schools' officers and cleaning team. Their ongoing care ensures our outdoor spaces remain safe and enjoyable for everyone.

There are also exciting developments underway, including a commissioned mural on the oval grandstand that is currently being completed. This artwork will be a vibrant new feature of our school, and we look forward to sharing more once it has been finalised.

In addition, our community garden project continues to engage students, encouraging hands-on learning, collaboration and a deeper connection to the environment.
