Lions Youth of the Year Award

Elliott Hockey recently represented our school with distinction at the Lions Youth of the Year competition. The Gap has a proud tradition in this competition, and Elliott’s performance certainly maintained that excellent standard. 

Elliott was presented with the Public Speaking Award for his eloquent and thoughtful impromptu and prepared speeches on a range of contemporary issues, including the rapid rise of artificial intelligence, the enduring value of studying music, and the complex relationship between social media use and mental health. 

His ability to communicate these ideas with clarity, maturity and conviction impressed judges and audience members alike.
