Welcome to Term 1

As we begin the 2026 school year, we extend a warm welcome to all members of our school community. Over the past couple of weeks, students have been reconnecting with familiar faces, forming new friendships, and engaging positively in their learning. It has been wonderful to see all students embracing the school values – to be safe, be respectful and be your best. Staff have also been fostering strong connections with their students, creating a supportive and inclusive environment both in the classroom and throughout the school.

Thank you to those who attended our ‘Meet the Teacher’ sessions, either online or in person. It was a valuable opportunity for families to connect with classroom teachers, learn about curriculum expectations, and gain insight into daily routines and learning goals. Building strong partnerships between home and school is central to student success. Clear communication and shared understanding set the tone for a positive and productive year ahead.

In 2026, we continue to strengthen our learning programs across all year levels. Our literacy and numeracy initiatives are grounded in evidence-based practice, with a strong focus on explicit teaching and differentiated support to ensure every student achieves growth. Specialist programs in the arts, physical education, STEM, food technology, and horticulture complement classroom learning. They provide students with diverse opportunities to discover their interests and talents while engaging in hands-on learning that fosters teamwork and independence.

2026 CSEF Funding

I would like to clarify information regarding financial support available to families in 2026. The 2026 Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) is different from the 2025 School Saving Bonus. The 2025 School Saving Bonus was a one-off initiative provided to all government school students to assist families with general back-to-school costs. The 2026 CSEF is an ongoing Victorian Government program designed specifically to help eligible families cover the cost of school camps, sports activities and excursions. Eligibility for CSEF in 2026 is based on holding a valid means-tested concession card (such as a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card) or being a temporary foster parent on the first day of Term 1 (or Term 2 for new students). Eligible families receive funding allocated directly to the school to be used toward camps, sports and excursion expenses for their child. Families who believe they may be eligible and have not yet applied are encouraged to contact the school office for confidential assistance.
