What's Been Happening in Pathways Planning?
Last term, our Year 9 students visited the Southern Catholic College Careers Expo where they were able to interact with representatives from Industry and Training Organisations. Examples of the areas on display were Defence and Emergency Services, Engineers Australia, Work and Training, Health and Community Services, Building and Construction, Hospitality and Education.

Year 9 students are currently working on their second assessment for this subject which involves Preparation for Work and they are constructing Resumes.
Year 10 students have been busy working on their preparation for College, choosing subjects for Year 11 and 12. They participated in two excursions to Guilford Young College. One to the Subject Expo at the Glenorchy Campus and the other they had a Tour of the Hobart Campus at the same time taking part in Course Advice/Counselling.
Year 10 students are currently working on their second assessment for this subject which involves subject selection and reflection.

GYC Course Counselling
Those students intending to go to Guilford Young College next year should now be enrolled for Year 11 and should have submitted their subject choices for 2027.
For those students enrolled in Colleges other than GYC, remember it is your responsibility to ensure that you are enrolled, have submitted subject selections and are aware of Orientation procedures as per the requirements of the individual Colleges.
All parents/carers of Year 10 students are asked to inform us of the College enrolment for their daughter in order for us to complete our Transition Information obligations.
This applies to all students regardless of the choice of College.
Please email valery.kullrich@mountcarmel.tas.edu.au to confirm their enrolment.

GYC Head Start Orientation Program: Monday 7 & Tuesday 8 December
Our Year 10 students moving on to GYC in 2027 will take part in their Head Start Program in December. These oritentaton days are an exciting opportunity for students to explore their new campus, meet teachers and classmates, experience their chosen subjects, and build confidence before Year 11 begins.
It's a great way to make the transition to senior secondary education a smooth and positive one.
