This week BHS Concert Bands performed at the Victorian Schools Music Festival at the R W Gibson Centre.
All Bands were awarded in the ‘outstanding’ category for their presentation and onstage demeanour and performed their programs with great professionalism. Many thanks to parents who assisted with transport to the event, and to Emma Moffatt and Amanda Linton for their hard work preparing students so well!
Jazz Cabaret
Music Support are excited to present the second Jazz Cabaret, featuring amazing musicians Michelle Scully, Kym Dillon (recently featured on the ABC series ‘The Piano’), Georgia Brooks and ex BHS student Sean Loughran, performing alongside and inspiring our own BHS student musicians. There’ll be some dancing, some singing and plenty of amazing musical moments.
For parents who play: Bring your instrument and join in the mass performance at the end of the cabaret – sheet music will be available closer to the day.
Seating is Cabaret style, so bring along a platter to share with your table if desired. This is an all ages, alcohol free event. Band captains and Senior Band students will be selling toasties to fundraise for their upcoming Sydney tour, and hot and cold drinks will also be available for sale.

BHS VET Band ‘The Routine’ are performing at Come Together festival on Sunday August 31st. Winning Bands step into a slot at the Queenscliff Music Festival, so we wish Jack, Grace, Lola, CJ, Hibiki and El all the best for their gig!

VET Year 1 ‘Barwon Battle’.
Year 1 VET Music students are planning and staging a Battle of the Bands at the Barwon Club on Wednesday September 10th, from 6.30pm. This is their Music Industry work task.

Year 1 and 2 VET Bands are performing at Oxygen Livespace on Monday September 15th, from 6.30pm. This is the last chance to hear our Year 2 Bands ahead of their VCE Performance exams, so come and enjoy the show! Entry is free.
