House Music Competition
Last Friday’s House Music Competition was another outstanding success and a wonderful showcase of the amazing music and participation culture we have at Belmont High School. Each house fronted up with a wide range of students, delivering creative and entertaining performances of songs from the chosen decade.
Congratulations to Mango House, who have now gone back-to-back with their victory this year. While every house put forward memorable performances, a special mention must go to Caelen Jones, whose dance to All the Single Ladies was a real highlight of the event.
Events like this remind us how unique the tradition of House Music is at our school and how it provides an opportunity for students to showcase their talents while contributing to the spirit of their house. A huge thank you goes to our House Leaders and Music staff for their time, energy, and support in making the day such a success.

Parent / Student / Teacher Interviews
Next Tuesday 26th August (12:00pm – 7:00pm) we will hold our second round of Parent / Student / Teacher Interviews. These conversations are an important part of the learning process, giving students and families the chance to connect directly with teachers to reflect on progress and discuss strategies for improvement.
The value of these interviews lies not only in recognising the achievements already made but also in identifying the next steps for growth. Feedback shared in these meetings helps students to understand their strengths, clarify areas for development, and set clear goals for the remainder of the year.
We encourage all families to make the most of this opportunity to work in partnership with our teachers to support students in achieving their best.
Please jump on to Compass and look to book a time with your teachers.
Bookings are open until Sunday 24th August.
Outstanding NAPLAN Results
We are very proud to share the recent NAPLAN results for Belmont High School, which highlight the outstanding achievements of our students. In the key areas of Reading, Writing, and Numeracy, both our Year 7 and Year 9 students have significantly outperformed similar schools.
Most pleasingly, the results also show a strong improvement in our growth data, indicating that students at Belmont High are improving at a faster rate than the state average. This is a clear reflection of the hard work and dedication of our students, supported by the commitment and expertise of our staff.
These results are a wonderful affirmation of the learning culture we continue to build at Belmont High and reinforce the importance of high expectations, targeted support, and the strong partnership between staff, students, and families.
Kind regards,
Joshua Baker
