In The 'Classroom'

What have we been learning about in Physical Education?

Over the past few weeks, students have been diving into various sports and activities. All students have completed the Target Games unit, which allowed them to work on precision and accuracy. For the Grade 4, 5, and 6 students, there was an exciting twist: they had the opportunity to design and play their own Target games during their final lesson, showcasing their creativity and understanding of the skills involved.

As we moved into the final week of Term 3, our focus shifted to AFL and Soccer in preparation for Footy Week. Students have been engaging in a variety of activities to sharpen their skills and build teamwork, all leading up to our much-anticipated Footy Day on the last day of term. This week has been all about fun, collaboration, and getting into the spirit of the games!

Seaside District Athletics Carnival

On Monday, around 65 students from Years 4 to 6 headed to Duncan McKinnon Athletics Track to compete against seven other schools in our district. It was a perfect sunny day, and our team was full of enthusiasm, eager to showcase their skills.

Our students represented the school with great spirit, supporting each other and giving 100% effort throughout the event. We were thrilled to see some impressive seaside records set by Vivienne Baker, Ari Gaudin, and Ewan Toner.

We are proud to announce that the team finished 5th overall and secured 3rd place in the aggregate competition. Congratulations to the 14 students who have qualified for the upcoming Division Athletics—best of luck and keep up the fantastic work!

Teams will compete in approximately 4-5 games throughout the day. The competition culminates at the end of each year with Regional Finals and a State Grand Final day, should any of our teams progress.
