Foundation
The students have been responding to loud and soft music. As an example, they have sung and moved to the song “When we Wash the Dishes”.
Year One
The students have been exploring Tempo : Getting Faster and Slower, and Classifying Sounds. For instance, they have moved to the song “Shake It Up, Baby”.
Year Two
The students have been investigating Exploring Sound : Sound Sorting, and Soundscape. As an example, they have used instruments to respond to the soundscape “The Ocean”.
Year Three
The students have been exploring Music From Different Times : The Romantic Era. For example, they moved and sung to the classic piece of music “The Blue Danube”.
Year Four
The students continued to create a musical piece from a visual storyboard. For example, they have composed and performed a response to the storyboard “A Train Journey”.
Year Five and Six
The students have created movement to tell a story from a soundtrack. For example, they have listened and organised a group movement performance to the soundtrack “Silent Movie”.
Concert Practice
The last week of August was intensive Concert Practice Week. Each student worked very hard to do their very best for the Concert on Friday August 29.
