From the Classroom - S4 (Miss Hunt)

This Term in S4, we have been learning about the 1850's Gold Rush in preparation for our visit to Sovereign Hill in a few weeks' time. We are so excited to get into costume and experience the goldfields. 

We have been reading The Night They Stormed Eureka, a fantastic novel which has been a window into the past, revealing the gritty reality of life on the goldfields for men, women, and children. We have learnt about the roles of people on the goldfields, from miners, to police officers and everything in between. 

We’ve explored the long, hopeful, and often awful journeys of migrants and to step into their shoes, we are writing letters home as newly arrived migrants.
