PEOPLES CHOICE AWARD TOP ARTS

We are incredibly proud to share that 2025 Art Making and Exhibiting student Poppy Nivarovich has won First Prize in the 2026 Top Arts People's Choice Awards at the National Gallery of Victoria.

Poppy's artwork, Birds and People Series, was selected for this year's Top Arts exhibition, which showcases some of the highest-achieving VCE Art students from across Victoria. Throughout the exhibition, visitors voted for their favourite artwork, with Poppy receiving the highest number of votes to win the People's Choice Award and a $1,500 cash prize.

This is a fantastic achievement and wonderful recognition of Poppy's creativity, hard work and commitment to her art making studies. To be selected for Top Arts is an outstanding accomplishment in itself, and to then be voted the People's Choice winner by exhibition visitors makes this recognition even more special.

Congratulations, Poppy! We are thrilled to see your talent recognised by the public. We wish you all the best as you begin a four-year track and cross-country scholarship at Saint Mary’s College of California in the USA, while continuing your tertiary studies in art.
