What a wonderful morning we had with our ActivePaths program launch last Friday. We had a fantastic turn out for the start of each of path and were able to share stories and discus the importance of stopping, looking, listening and think before crossing. It was pleasing to see our staff supporting this great initiative and the many families involved. Unfortunately, due to a mix up with dates, the markings on the ground were not ready but they have now been marked on the ground and hopefully they become regular use by families of CPS.
Below is the map created by our year 6 leaders and we believe that these paths are the safest and most enjoyable routes to Carnegie Primary School.

Thank you to the Glen Eira Council and Nina from Ride2School (Bicycle Victoria) for their support in setting up this program.
On Wednesday 27th May, our school had 8 students represent CPS at the Division cross country event.
Each of these runners had to battle very cold and wet conditions down at Cornish College. The course was extremely challenging with many slippery sections of farm land and challenging hills along the way. All students did an incredible job qualifying for this event and competed with great heart.
Well done to all students involved and a special mention and congratulations goes to Maddie W, who qualified for the regional event where she finished 29th in our Southern Metropolitan Region. We are very proud of the whole CPS running team and look forward to another strong group of runners in 2027!
We are very much looking forward to our Year 3–6 House Athletics Day and our P–2 Athletics Day next term. Both events provide wonderful opportunities for students to showcase the skills they have developed throughout our Physical Education program while participating in a fun, active, and competitive environment.
As in previous years, some athletics events will need to be completed at school prior to the carnival due to time constraints on the day. This year, the events that will be conducted during Physical Education lessons are:
These events will take place during PE lessons in the first three weeks of Term 3. Students will need to be present during these lessons for their results to be measured and recorded.
We look forward to seeing all of our talented students participate to the best of their ability and celebrate the achievements and personal bests that are set throughout the athletics season.
