THANK YOU AND GOODBYE

A message form Annie...

After many years at Carnegie Primary School, I have decided it’s time for the next chapter.

I officially joined the admin team in 2010 for 1 or 2 days per week, when we were a much smaller school. My role soon became the Enrolments Officer amongst the many, many jobs that come with school administration.

I have loved working at Carnegie Primary School and have had the privilege of connecting with so many wonderful people, both past and present. I will miss the staff-many of whom have close friends- the students and all the bumped heads and of course the parents as they navigate their way through the primary side of life.

My last official day will be in July, however I will commence Long Service Leave as of 25th June 2026 and will not return for term 3.

I wish you all every happiness and success for the future, and I hope our paths may cross again.

Warmest regards,

Annie Easthope.

SEMESTER 2 TIMETABLE UPDATE

In Semester Two, the school will introduce a revised daily timetable following extensive consultation and review of research and practice across comparable settings.

The updated structure is designed to strengthen student learning, wellbeing, and engagement throughout the day. Key changes include an earlier lunch break, supporting improved student safety, reduced playground incidents, and more consistent supervision of eating routines. Students will continue to have access to brain breaks during morning sessions where required to support regulation and focus.

From Semester Two 2026, the whole-school initiative “Facts on Fire” will also be delivered at a scheduled daily time, supporting consistency and shared focus for improving 'mathematical' fluency across all year levels.

To support the change, evidence from schools within the Stonnington and Glen Eira Network ( SAGE ) implementing earlier lunch breaks highlights a range of benefits, include:

  • Improved student behaviour and self-regulation
  • More effective use of morning learning time when students are most alert
  • Smoother transitions and fewer disruptions across the school day
  • Increased flexibility in managing extreme weather conditions
  • Enhanced supervision and student safety during break times

Overall, the revised timetable reflects our commitment to creating calm, consistent, and high-impact learning environments that support every student to thrive.

Further information will be provided to families outlining ways to support children in adjusting to the new daily structure in Semester Two.
