As we reach the end of Term 2, I would like to thank our students, families and staff for another busy and successful term.

The holidays can be a wonderful opportunity to slow down, reconnect and enjoy a break from the usual school routines. For some children, holidays bring excitement and energy. For others, the change in routine can feel a little challenging. Both are completely normal.

If your child seems a little more emotional, tired, worried or unsettled than usual, remember that behaviour is often communication. Sometimes what children need most is a little extra connection, patience and reassurance as they navigate big feelings.

The holiday break can also be a chance to enjoy the simple things that help us all feel well – spending time with people we care about, doing things we enjoy and taking opportunities to rest and recharge.

If you or your family would benefit from some additional support over the break, the following services are available:

• Parentline Victoria – 13 22 89

• Kids Helpline – 1800 55 1800

• Beyond Blue – 1300 22 4636

• Lifeline – 13 11 14

• Griefline – 1300 845 745

• Nurse-on-Call – 1300 60 60 24

If there is an immediate risk to safety, call 000.

On behalf of the Wellbeing Team, I wish all Carnegie Primary School families a safe, restful and enjoyable holiday break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 3.
