My Lord and My God

A THANKFUL HEART SAYING FAREWELL

It is with much gratitude and thanksgiving that I depart from St Thomas The Apostle School. I feel rather like the miracle of feeding the 5000. What little I was able to offer with my gifts and talents has been returned ten thousand fold! It has been my honour and my priveledge to serve this community for the past 6 years.

From the tricky times of covid, through radical reorganisation to better serve children through to creating safe spaces so amazing educators could learn, rehearse, trial and embed new practices in real time; I have been so proud of this school.

I have gained new knowledge thanks to the generosity of members of the community who trusted me to share their stories and truths, stepped into partnership and leaned into discomfort. All for the betterment of the beautiful and amazing students of St Thomas The Apostle.

I think we all can be proud of the huge steps in creating a place where excellent education is not just a possibililty but is increasingly a reality. The building blocks of an outstanding school are in place and I look forward to watching it come to fruition from 'just down the road'.

I have written a letter to families, and another to students which I have added here. The beautiful students of Year 6 have written one to me that I have also included. They reduced me to tears with their heartfelt words and delivery.

Congratulations to Ms Overbury - Acting Principal

I give my hearty congratulations and strongest endorsement to Ms Peta Overbury who will be stepping into the role of acting Principal during Term 3. We have worked closely together to ensure that the school improvement direction, projects and actions have been aligned with the Diocesan plan and our school context. Her loyalty, talents and support have been instrumental in the improved outcomes of our school.
