Music Notes

Term 1 Ends on a High Note!
On Friday the music department celebrated its term of music learning with a casual concert held in the PAC. This showcased the full array of music ensembles on offer in the Senior School at Huntingtower, with over 300 students involved in the program across 15 ensembles.
The evening commenced with our largest instrumental ensemble, the Huntingtower Symphony Orchestra. It dazzled the audience with its lush, rich horn section and virtuosic strings, so much so that middle school students waiting in the wings were transfixed and inspired to learn an orchestral instrument.
Being a more relaxed concert, audience members came and went. They were treated to the guitar ensemble, string chamber groups, big bands as well as many different choirs and concluded with our school’s largest ensemble, the mighty Senior Choir.
Many thanks are extended to the exceptional ensemble leaders within the music department in addition to the instrumental staff who aid in teaching our students and enriching their educational experience whilst at Huntingtower. The great success of the concert is thanks to the hard work and dedication of our music staff.
Tour Due to Depart
This Saturday brings with it the departure of our second bi-annual European Music Tour. Students have been working tirelessly for six months across three ensembles; the Tour Orchestra, Tour Chorale and the Tour Chamber Choir.
Our Tour Chamber Choir are set to compete in the International Choral Festival in Budapest, in addition to the many destinations involved in the tour.
