Volunteering Acknowledgement

Each year as part of the National Volunteers Week (9-25 May), the City of Clarence holds a function to acknowledge the voluntary contributions of its residents. As part of this function, a number of awards are presented. One of the  2025 awards, Senior Citizen of the Year, went to Graeme Rainbow in recognition of a 25-year involvement in the rehabilitation and enhancement of Bellerive Bluff foreshore. For much of that period, Graeme has been the secretary and working bee/projects coordinator of the Bellerive Bluff Land & Coast Care Group Inc.

Having turned eighty in January, Graeme is finally attempting to settle into a retirement mode, and has recently relinquished his committee involvements with the Coastcare group and with the Old Virgilians Association, along with his retirement from the College as archivist/OVAtions coordinator. Thus ends a forty-three-year staff association with St Virgil’s College.
