The front page of the Hobart Mercury carried a story on the return of Jeremy to Hobart where he grew up and where he attended St Virgil’s College for his secondary education.

Jeremy has had an outstanding career in the Australian Army and the purpose of his return was as the Australian Defence Force’s senior officer to review the ANZAC Day march. To quote from the article by Amelia Swan: -

Describing himself as a ‘proud Tasmanian’ Major General King said that while ANZAC Day was an important national day, it was also deeply personal.

“As a military member, it is hard not to underscore the importance of the day and what it means in terms of more than 102 000 who have died in service,” he said.

“There are people you serve with who are no longer with us, and so the opportunity to remember them is important to me.”

Major General Jeremy King CSM is currently Head Joint Aviation Systems Division.
