Important closures

Big Build is reaching out to let you know about some upcoming long-term Princes Freeway ramp closures the company will have in place from mid-June to early November as part of the Clyde Road Upgrade.

WHAT'S HAPPENING

From mid-June until early November, Big Build will have long-term Princes Freeway ramp closures in place as the company works to connect them into the new southbound lanes under construction on Clyde Road.

Big Build will also use this time to complete extensive asphalt and drainage works, and to build a 180 metre long retaining wall along the Princes Freeway citybound exit ramp which will also act as a safety barrier.

Big Build will close the:

Princes Freeway citybound exit ramp to Clyde Road from Thursday 12 June to 5am Friday 14 November
Warragul-bound entry ramp to the Princes Freeway at Clyde Road from 8pm Wednesday 9 July to 5am Thursday 9 October.

While Big Build understands these works are disruptive, they will reduce the number of ramp closures required in the future to complete the project.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Big Build will work from 7am to 5pm on weekdays and 7am to 1pm on Saturdays. The company may also work overnight at times.

There will be no impact to public transport services.

Detour and delays

General public detours will be in place via O'Shea Road and the Princes Highway. Delays of up to 15 minutes are expected.

Access to businesses, schools and hospitals on Kangan Drive will be maintained as usual from Clyde Road, Soldiers Road or Bryn Mawr Boulevard.

Drivers travelling north or south on Clyde Road only, may also experience delays of up to 10 minutes.

Emergency service access

Emergency vehicles will be required to follow signed detour routes during these closures. Big Build will be in contact with Ambulance Victoria and other agencies to ensure they're aware of the company's works.

Travelling to schools, businesses and hospitals

Parents, students, customers and staff travelling to local schools, businesses and hospitals please follow the detours and allow additional travel time.
