Humanities – Egyptian Headdresses

The Grade 1/2 students have continued their learning about Ancient Egypt, with a particular focus on pharaohs and their important roles in society. As part of this unit, students explored the fascinating story of Hatshepsut, one of the few female pharaohs, and learned about her leadership and legacy. They also discovered the significance of the elaborate headdresses worn by pharaohs, which symbolised power, protection, and connection to the gods.

To bring their learning to life, students designed and created their own Egyptian headdresses, carefully decorating them with patterns and symbols inspired by their research. They had a wonderful time wearing their creations and proudly sharing their work with others.

Cross Country

On Tuesday 31st March, the Grade 1/2 students eagerly participated in our school Cross Country event. The morning was filled with excitement as students arrived dressed in their vibrant house colours, creating a wonderful sense of team spirit and energy across the school.

Throughout the event, students demonstrated fantastic resilience, determination, and enthusiasm as they challenged themselves to complete the course. It was especially pleasing to see the strong sense of sportsmanship on display, with students encouraging and supporting one another every step of the way. We are very proud of the positive attitudes shown by all participants and the way they represented their houses with pride.
