Principal News

Welcome to Term 4
It is hard to believe that we are already two weeks into the final term for 2026. It won't be long before we saying farewell to our graduating Year 6 students (and along with that many families that have been with LCS for long periods of time) and we will be preparing to settle in our 2027 Preps as well as ensure all of our students have had transition sessions with their 2027 class and teachers. But before all of that happens, we have quite a number of exciting activities and learning opportunities for all our our students.
Our Year 5/6 students returned from a four day camp in Melbourne last week, they experienced a range of activities including a Parliament House visit, MCG tour and a visit to the Shrine of Remembrance; also experiencing catching public transport in Melbourne and navigating their way around the city. See the Year 5/6 page to learn more about their adventures. A special thank you to our three parent volunteers who joined us, Michelle, Jason and Dan - we could not have done it without you and appreciate the care you provided to all of our students (whilst also giving up four days of your paid work in order to attend).
A further thank you to our wonderful parents, grandparents and friends of our school who volunteered their time at the Elmore Field Days last week. Your efforts to support this event and in turn contribute to the fundraising for our school are very much appreciated. Please see the Parents & Friends Page for more information regarding the Field Days.
Welcome Back
A special welcome back to Ms Emily Gusman, who returns to us from Family Leave. Emily will be working two days per week (Monday/Tuesday) as our Leading Teacher with a specific focus on the teaching and learning programs. We missed Emily's smiling face and drive whilst she was enjoying her newborn son, Kobe.

If families have any special requests (such as siblings/cousins being separated or placed together) or other circumstances that warrant consideration, please contact Lisa Duffy via phone or email (lisa.duffy@education.vic.gov.au) to outline your request. Please do not use Xuno for this purpose so that I can ensure requests are kept as confidential as possible. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate genuine requests, I know that families will understand that it is not always possible to honour all preferences.
Thank You
A special thank you to Jackie Newth who took on the role of Acting Principal whilst I was on long service leave at the end of Term 3. Jackie did this in addition to her already busy schedule as our whole-school Wellbeing Leader and Year 3/4A classroom teacher. I know that the school was in the most capable hands during my leave.
School Council
Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday October 20th at 6pm at the school. Please let myself or Lisa Lind know if you are unable to attend.
That's all for this week, Lisa Duffy
