We still need your lids!

Our amazing school community has embraced the senior students' Plastics Program with overwhelming enthusiasm. The response from families, staff and students has been fantastic, and it's wonderful to see our students engaging so passionately with this important environmental cause.

As part of the new Senior Pathways Program Business Enterprise module, senior students have coordinated the collection, counting, cleaning and sorting of plastic lids that would otherwise end up in landfill. Over recent Fridays, students had the opportunity to design their own moulds and use plastic shredding and injection machinery at Geelong Tech School, who have generously allowed us to utilise their equipment to process all the lids we've collected. We've also partnered with Zero Plastics Australia to design a new product from the shredded plastic, which students will then sell to raise money for our school.

So please, keep those #2 and #4 plastic lids coming in for the remainder of the year via your child's classroom or drop off at our Office collection point. And a huge thank you for supporting our students to divert plastic from landfill through repurposing plastic lids into new and useful products - yay!

Kind regards,
