James and Joice Nimaya Shine in the Victorian State Schools Spectacular!

Congratulations to James and Joice Nimaya!

In addition to the incredible achievements of our very own amazing Dance Troupe, we are thrilled to celebrate the accomplishments of James Nimaya, who has once again been selected as a Principal Dancer for the prestigious Victorian State Schools Spectacular. This marks his third time being chosen for this honour. This remarkable achievement is a true testament to James’s dedication, talent, and hard work. The Spectacular will take place at the John Cain Arena in September.

A big congratulations also goes to Joice Nimaya, who has earned a well-deserved place in the Spectacular Choir. This is a wonderful recognition of her musical talent, following on from her recent role as Dorothy Gale in the 2024 College Production of The Wizard of Oz.

Congratulations again to James and Joice on your fantastic achievements!

Performing Arts Club

We held our first Performing Arts Club session for the year on Friday, 2nd May, and it was a fantastic start! The theme of the session was Improvisation and it was brilliantly led by our Performing Arts Captains - Abbie, Jaxon and Kaneisha.

The room was full of energy, creativity and a whole lot of laughter as students jumped into games, quick-thinking activities and spontaneous scenes. It was a great chance for students to express themselves, try something new and most of all, have fun in a supportive space.

Here’s what some of the students had to say about today's activities:

"I love it. It's amazing. It makes me feel I'm where I'm supposed to be."

"I really like it. I'm going to do it every Friday."

"It was really fun. I'll be coming again."

"Very entertaining."

 "Live. Laugh. Love."

With feedback like that, we can’t wait to see what’s next! Performing Arts Club will continue to run every Friday lunchtime, so if you’re looking for a place to create, perform and make new friends - come and join the fun at lunchtime in PA1!

Behind the Scenes Brilliance! Set Design team announced soon

We’ve been thrilled by the number of students who expressed interest in becoming set designers for our upcoming College Production, Beauty and the Beast Jr. The enthusiasm so far has been incredible and it’s clear we have some very talented students ready to bring the stage to life!

The official set design team will be announced on Monday, 5th May, and we can’t wait to see the magic they’ll create.

The list of selected students will be posted on the Compass Newsfeed and College Social Media on Monday, 5th May. All students who are selected will also need to attend a short meeting in PA1 on the same day.

Stay tuned - we’re so excited to see the creative journey begin!
