EMR Cross Country Report – Yarra Glen Racecourse

On 12 June, a group of dedicated students represented our school at the EMR Cross Country Championships, held at the scenic Yarra Glen Racecourse. Competing against some of the best runners from across the Eastern Metropolitan Region, our students delivered outstanding performances and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout the day.

Individual Highlights:We are proud to celebrate four individual medallists from the event:

🥇 Edward (13 Boys) - 1st place in the 3km event with a time of 10:59
🥇 Chloe (15 Girls) - 1st place in the 3km event with a time of 12:53
🥈 Mason (17–20 Boys) - 2nd place in the 5km event with a time of 17:12
🥉 Tas (17–20 Boys) - 3rd place in the 5km event with a time of 17:14

Team Results: Our teams also achieved incredible success:

🥇 1st Place -15 Girls and U14 Boys
🥈 2nd Place - 14 Girls
🥉 3rd Place - 13 Boys and U16 Girls

These results reflect not only the individual commitment of our students but also their strength as teams, with many training hard together in the lead-up to the event.

We are extremely proud of every student who competed and represented the school so admirably. Congratulations to all on a fantastic day of achievement and school spirit!

Blackburn Take out the Whitehorse Cross Country Event

On 6th May, 70 of our students headed to Ruffey Lake Park for the Whitehorse Division Cross Country event. This course is not easy with one very demanding hill to climb however, every one of our students gave it their absolute best, and as a result, we had:

48 students qualify through the Eastern Region finals
5 age-group teams placing 1st (14 Yrs Boys, 15 Yrs Boys and Girls, 16 Yrs Boys and 17-20 Yrs Girls) and
Blackburn finishing 1st overall amongst the other schools in our division.

Special mention to the following students who also placed in the top 3 for their age groups;
