This week, our Confirmation candidates attended their Confirmation formation session, accompanied by their teachers, as they continued preparing for this personal and deeply significant sacrament. During the session, students explored the meaning of Confirmation, reflected on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and rehearsed the ceremonial aspects of the liturgy to help them feel confident and prepared for their celebration.
It was wonderful to see our students so engaged, respectful and willing to work alongside both friends from St Thomas and students from other primary schools. They represented our school with pride and embraced the opportunity to grow in faith together.
Our sincere thanks to the teachers who supported the formation session and to the Year 6 staff who worked with the students remaining at school, ensuring meaningful learning continued for everyone.
Parents of Year 5 students who have expressed an interest in singing at one or more of the Confirmation ceremonies are asked to keep an eye on PAM for a permission note, which will be sent shortly with further details.
We now look forward with great excitement to celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation with Bishop Greg. The ceremonies will be held on Friday 14 August at 5.00 pm and Saturday 15 August at 11.00 am and 1.00 pm. We look forward to witnessing our students affirm their faith and receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit as they celebrate this important milestone in their faith journey.
