Enrolment Management Plan Update

2026 Enrolment Restriction

Our school now has an enrolment restriction under section 2.2.16 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic). The restriction limits enrolments for the 2026 school year.

Our school will accept enrolments from:

  • students who live within the school zone
  • students with a sibling attending the school at the same time
  • students enrolling on compassionate grounds, in exceptional circumstances.

Depending on available places, our school may be able to accept a limited number of out-of-zone enrolments according to next closest to the school and in line with our capped numbers according to our Enrolment Management Plan (EMP).

The department will review this enrolment restriction yearly and provide updated advice as necessary for the subsequent school year.

Attendance, Early Pick Ups and Late Arrivals

I am really concerned about the number of students arriving late each morning, being picked up early on a regular basis (unless to attend medical/theraputic appointments that are known to the school) and the number of families organising multiple family vacations which impact on school attendance.  It is really important that students come to school each day for continuity of learning, to maintain social relationships with peers and staff and to ensure that can receive the best possible academic outcomes.  We know that it is financially challenging, and not always possible, to organise holidays during school holiday periods, however doing so regularly is not encouraged.  Please note that, for any absence of over 5 days, an Absence Learning Plan should be arranged via communication with your child's classroom teacher.

TOILET REALLOCATION

Due to a number of reported incidents, we have decided to assigned toilets to the Upper and Lower Schools.  These toilets will be used at all break and morning class times.  Junior students (F-2) will now use the toilets attached to the main building and Senior students (3-6) will use the portable building.  The disabled toilet in the main building student toilets will still be available for selected students to use.

Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey

The 2025 Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey (PCGOS) will be open between Monday 18 August and Friday 19 September for all parents/caregivers/guardians to complete.

A link will be sent via Compass on Monday for families to complete.  It would be great if you could take the time to give us feedback via this survey.

We use the data supplied in this survey to inform planning and decision making for the school.

CAMP THANK YOU

A huge thanks to the Senior School team for their time and dedication planning for and attending the Year 5/6 City camp. From all reports, a fantastic time was had by all. Thank you also to the parents who volunteered their time.

CHILD SAFETY CODE OF CONDUCT

I am concerned with the number of incidences over the past two weeks where we have received reports and complaints about parents actively breaching our Child Safety Code of Conduct.

Major issues that we have been managing include parents:

·        Communicating directly with a student (not their own) through personal or private channels or directly to a student or group of students

Parents have approached students (who are not their own) about issues between their child and other students.  Often without knowledge of all sides of the issue.   A reminder that ALL concerns should be raised with the school rather than directed to any student, particularly when they are not accompanied by an adult to defend them.

I would like to make clear that:

·        Confidentiality MUST be adhered to by all community members

·        No parent should approach or speak to another student to berate them- children should also not be used as messengers between families or to try to resolve school-based matters

·        No student should be spoken about on social media, unless by their own parent

I appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this, to ensure the safety and confidentiality of all of our students.

Lockdown Information

Yesterday we had the need to enact our "Lockdown" procedures.  As many details that could be shared, were shared with parents after the event to assist with supporting your children should they have been upset at all.  It is important, under our Child Safe obligations to maintain the confidentiality and anonymity of students.  Some parents/carers came to the office demanding details, names and year levels of who was invovled.  This information cannot and will not be shared.  This is not information that needs to be known other than by those directly involved.  Please do not ask our teachers, leaders or office staff for confidential information, as this may cause upset when it is refused.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Cate
