Marvellous Monican

For the month of February, we would like to award the Marvellous Monican to Gurmanat Sandhu (12 Purple).

Manat is an incredible tennis player and has recently gained an official WTA female singles world tennis ranking. Amazingly, she is the only Australian female tennis athlete at her level that is still attending school. Recently, she played the number one seed in the qualifying rounds at the Australian Open ‘Girls’ Singles on Court 5 and has worked intensively on her serve which is now consistently around 190 km/h. Manat is in the Top 3 in Victoria in Open age and in the Top 15 in Australia for Under 18. For her incredible ranking while balancing her schoolwork, Manat is a true example of hard work, determination, and endeavour and is deserving of being named Marvellous Monican.
