Japanese Homestay Program
The College is excited to welcome our friends from Takada High School, Japan on Saturday, 14 March. Established in 1994, this important and rewarding program is a core part of our identity and is currently the longest-standing partnership with a school in Japan nationally.
As we await their arrival, we look forward to providing a memorable and exciting experience for them. However, it is the work and contributions of our host families that truly make this experience special. Though they offer their guests a quintessential Australian experience, they too celebrate and create memories together as a family.
This experience culminates with a reciprocal visit to Japan that will occur later this year. Takada High School and their community welcome Monicans into their homes, offering a truly unique experience that our students remember fondly.
Finally, I must acknowledge our 2026 host families, as well as their predecessors who have hosted students from both Japan and France. Together, they have established the College as a leader in the international sphere, offering programs that are arguably unparalleled in quality or value.
If your family would like to be part of one of the many incredible international programs that the College offers, please do not hesitate to enquire.

Italy Immersion Trip
During the final week of November 2025, a group of 14 students departed for Italy accompanied by Mr Joseph Registro, Mrs Jane Green and Mr Chris Zuccala. During the two weeks that followed, the tour group visited several Italian cities, monuments, places of historical significance, enjoyed the best of Italian food and lived the Italian language and way of life.
The tour began in Milan, one of Europe’s fashion capitals where students visited the famous Duomo di Milano and enjoyed some fine shopping opportunities. The tour group then travelled to the city of Venice, with a brief stop on the way at Romeo and Juliet’s House in Verona. In Venice, many students enjoyed their first gondola ride and the unique experience of sightseeing in a city built on a multitude of islands.
After spending a few days in Venice, the group enjoyed a short stay in the city of Bologna before travelling to the beautiful historical city of Florence where students enjoyed iconic landmarks such as the Duomo di Firenze and the Ponte Vecchio. The group then embarked on a day excursion to the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, one of the world's most unique monuments, before spending a couple of days in the Tuscan city of Siena, the home of the famous Palio horse race. After having visited so many famous cities and monuments, the group travelled to the tour’s final destination which was the eternal city of Rome. Highlights of Rome included visits to the Colosseum and the Vatican City.
Many of the tour group’s participants expressed amazement at what they had seen and experienced in such a short time. Those who were lucky enough to have been part of this trip will have memories that will last a lifetime.
