Beginning the Year with Faith and Support

The start of a new school year brings fresh opportunities, new routines, and sometimes a few nerves. Returning to school, or beginning at a new campus, is a significant transition for young people. Re-establishing friendships, adapting to expectations, and managing learning responsibilities all take time. As a College community, we remind students that settling in is a process, and they are not expected to manage it alone.

Our theme of Faith calls us to trust that we are supported by God and by one another. Faith is lived through relationships, noticing when someone needs help, offering encouragement, and knowing when to reach out. At school, this support exists through a network of people committed to student wellbeing.

Homeroom Teachers are often the first point of contact each day, helping students establish routines and feel a sense of belonging. Year Level Leaders and classroom teachers guide students through learning expectations and organisation. Our College Counselling Team provides a safe, confidential space for students experiencing worries, stress, or personal challenges. Support staff across the Campuses also play an important role, offering practical assistance and reassurance throughout the day.

We encourage students and families to make use of these supports early. Seeking help is not a sign of difficulty, but a positive step toward growth and resilience. When students feel safe and supported, they are better able to learn, participate, and flourish.

As we begin the year together, may we continue to live our faith through kindness, patience, and care for one another, creating a community where every student feels known, valued, and supported.
