Maths
Foundation students explored 'doubling' in Maths through engaging, interactive activities. Using gingerbread twins, ladybug wings, and iPads, they visually represented identical quantities on each side. Partner work helped them recall these double facts, reinforcing key strategies for mathematical fluency.
Literacy
During Book Week, classroom rotations gave Junior School students the opportunity to explore a variety of CBCA-nominated storybooks. Responsive activities followed, with Foundation students creating "Potato Pets" based on The Potato People. After writing simple sentences to describe their pets, the students introduced them to their classmates.
Book Week Parade
We had a fabulous day last Friday at our book parade! We are so proud of our foundation students getting on the stage and showing off their amazing costumes! Thank you to all of our Grandparents and family/friends who made the morning special by joining us for a book and short activity!
Inquiry
In Inquiry, Foundation students investigated the properties of wood and aluminium foil, predicting and testing whether each material would sink or float. After exploring various foil boat designs, they considered shape, size, and materials to design and build their own boats to "float their goat."
Kind Regards,
