Faith Matters

Dear St Francis Xavier Families,

As we come to the end of Term 3, we can look back with gratitude on what has been a wonderfully productive and enriching term for our school community. It has been a busy time filled with learning, faith, celebration and opportunities to grow together. We are grateful for the enthusiasm and commitment of our students, staff and families who continue to contribute so much to the life of our school. As we prepare for the final term of the year, there is still so much to look forward to. Term 4 promises to be a joyful and memorable time, with many special events including faith celebrations such as Confirmation, Advent, St Francis Xavier Feast Day, the Christmas Nativity Concert and our end of year Christmas Gratitude Mass.

Year 5/6 Class Mass Term 4

Our Year 5/6s will be attending the 9:15am mass during the first week of Term 4 on Tuesday, 6th October.

Supporting Our Children at Mass

We love welcoming family members to our 9:15am class masses, and the children particularly enjoy having their family members sit and worship alongside them. Our staff work closely with the children to help them understand the expectations of participating in mass, particularly the importance of respectful behaviour in a sacred space. We are very proud of the children and the wonderful example they set through their reverence and participation.

We respectfully ask that all adults who attend and sit with the children support them in maintaining this reverence by refraining from conversations or behaviours that may cause distraction during the mass. Your support helps the children to remain focused, prayerful and fully engaged in this important part of our school community's faith life. Thank you for helping us create a prayerful environment for everyone.

SFX Christmas Appeal

Each year, during the final term, we select a charity to support in the lead up to Christmas. Tomorrow I will be meeting with the SRC group to discuss who we might select this year. The process usually involves donations of non perishable food, toiletries, Christmas fare and new toys. I look forward to sharing the results of the SRC's decision early next term.

Warmest wishes and God's blessings.
