Saint Francis Xavier - Principal's Report
Term 3 - Week 10
Dear Parents and Friends of St Francis Xavier,
As we come to the end of another busy and rewarding term, it is wonderful to reflect on the many achievements, experiences and special moments across our school community. Term 3 has been filled with opportunities for learning, connection and celebration, and I am incredibly proud of the way our students have embraced each opportunity. As we head into the final term, I encourage everyone to celebrate how far our students have come and look forward with excitement to all that Term 4 will bring.
Book Week
What a wonderful Book Week we had at St Francis Xavier Primary School last week! The highlight was undoubtedly our amazing Book Week Parade on Friday, which was a fantastic celebration of books, reading and the incredible creativity of our students and families. Congratulations to all of our Book Week Award winners - you should be very proud of your achievements. However, we were equally impressed by the tremendous effort that went into every single costume, with so many families going above and beyond to create such imaginative and creative outfits.
Thank you to the many families who took the time to share such wonderful feedback about the parade, both in person and via email. It was lovely to hear how much you enjoyed being part of this special occasion.
A very special thank you also goes to our Grandparents and special friends, who joined us after the parade and spent time with students in their classrooms—it was wonderful to see the joy this brought to our students. Congratulations also to our School Choir on their magnificent performance in front of such a large crowd. They represented our school beautifully and certainly added to the atmosphere of the morning. Finally, a very special thank you to Miss Melanie for her wonderful organisation and preparation throughout the week. Her enthusiasm and commitment helped make Book Week such a memorable celebration for our whole school community.
School Uniform
A reminder to all families that we will transition to our Summer Uniform from the beginning of Term 4. As we look ahead to 2027, I am hoping that all children will have two important new uniform items ready for the beginning of the school year. These items are the reversible school hat, featuring your child’s House colour ($22), as well as the new Sports T-Shirt ($18.50).
Please note that the old navy broad-rimmed school hat and the previous Sports T-Shirt featuring House colours are no longer available for purchase.
The other two new uniform items available are the softshell jacket and school beanie. Families may prefer to wait until 2027 to purchase these items, particularly if you are looking to purchase them closer to the colder months. Thank you for helping us ensure that all students are appropriately and proudly dressed in our updated school uniform.

Former S.F.X student appointed John Paul College, College Captain for 2027
Former student Abigail A has recently been appointed as one of John Paul College’s 2027 College Captains, an exciting achievement as she continues her secondary schooling at JPC.
As College Captain, Abigail will play an important role in shaping the culture, spirit and direction of the College community. She will be a voice for her fellow students, work alongside staff and student leaders, encourage participation and help create a strong sense of connection across the College.
The role will also provide Abigail with opportunities to lead by example, share ideas and contribute to the direction of the College, while supporting and representing students throughout the year.
The primary school community can be very proud of Abigail, and we look forward to seeing all she goes on to achieve in this important leadership role.
End of Term
The last day of Term for students is tomorrow, Friday 18th September. Students will be dismissed at the normal time of 3:15pm.
Start of Term 4
Students will return for the start of Term 4 on Monday 5th October.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
