"Keep an eye out for some fun EASTER Activities"

Prep M

We have been learning about Holy Week. We did some activities on each of the days and this is what we did: For Palm Sunday, we traced our hands on green paper and cut them out then stuck them all to a big poster. For Good Friday, we made crosses with our buddies. We stuck a bunch of coloured cellophane onto a cross. It looked really cool. For Holy Thursday, we did a colouring-in of Jesus. For Easter Sunday, we did a dot-to-dot and coloured in a big Easter egg. We loved making our stain glass window crosses with our buddies. Leonel’s favourite day of Holy Week is Easter Sunday. Olive’s favourite day of Holy Week is Palm Sunday.

1/2RS:

In Maths we begin each lesson with Facts on Fire, a times activity to help us get better at remembering our addition and subtraction facts. During our one-minute challenge, we answer as many equations as possible, it has been fun to see us all grown each day on our growth charts.

On the excursion, we went to the International Flower Show. It was really fun, and we saw lots of beautiful flowers. My favourite part was the water fountain. Another highlight was the parade, where many people walked around wearing colourful costumes.

In writing we have been working on adjectives, adverbs, and verbs. We have done a few activities to help us remember these things. We put it all together by writing our own fables.

We have been growing carrots and have also been making lots of yummy food like ice cream, hot cross buns, banana bread and mint tea. We had so much fun making it and in the garden. We have been cleaning it all to make it beautiful.

We all did a showbag on our favourite book. We had to do a blurb, front cover, book review, character cards and 5 - 10 items about the book. On Monday, Miss Jones will call us up one-by-one to present what we have done. Miss Jess and Miss Jones will mark on how we present, like how clearly we spoke, what we added and how we presented it. Our showbags will be bung up all around the school.

We all did a showbag on our favourite book. We did a blurb, front cover, book review about the book and we are presenting them on Monday. I think it was really fun. Some popular books were Dog Man, The Baby-Sitters Club, and I did Specky Magee.

We have been making showbags in class. Our show bags are about our favorite books and we have to put  5 things to put in our bags about our books. When we have finished our project we present it in front of our class.
