School News

From the Principal's Desk

Dear parents, families and friends,

Blink and you will miss it!!

Where has the term gone? It seems like only yesterday that we started school and welcomed our preps for 2026. Now we have come to the end of 10 weeks of Term 1.

This edition of the newsletter includes two new pages - Specialist News and Kids Corner. Specialist News is for our specialist teachers to include updates and reports on what has been happening in their classes. Kids Corner is a page for our students. It is the first initiative of our school captains, having been one of their ideas from the School Captain speeches. I think it may have been Yorke, but please forgive my memory if it wasn't. The banner for Kids Corner was created by Oscar in Year 5. All the content in Kids Corner is created, edited and selected by our students, lead by our School Captains.

Please take the time to read the entire newsletter, especially Kids Corner.

St. Patrick's Mass For Schools

I attended the annual St. Patrick's Day Mass for schools on Friday 20th March with student leaders and Miss Marissa in her capacity as Sacrament & Liturgy Coordinator.

St. Patrick's Cathedral was completely filled with students and staff from nearly every Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Melbourne. The principal celebrant was Archbishop Peter, who was joined by bishops and priests of the archdiocese.

Open Day

On Saturday 28th March from 11.30am to 2.30pm we held our Annual Open Day to promote our school and grow enrolments, especially for our Prep class for 2027. Considering the wet weather, 18 families visited our school, 15 of these families have a child due to commence Prep in 2027. Thank you to all students, parents and staff who donated their time to support this event and to make it a success.

We also held a 2nd Hand Book Sale in the hall which was open to the public. This was managed by Kat and some second hands (dad joke) raising close to $500 which will go towards purchasing new books for the library.

James Pearce

Today we said farewell to James Pearce, one of our LSOs who is take leave for the next few months to go to Spain with his partner Maria. We wish James all the very best during his time overseas and we especially wish him safe travels. We look forwarded to welcoming James back in November this year.

Joseph's Corner Fundraiser

On Thursday 19th March, St. Joseph's Feast Day, we had a Casual Clothes Day to raise funds in support of Joseph's Corner. Joesph's Corner is situated in Building C above the Art Studio. It provides a support and counselling service for families who have a family member struggling with alcohol and drug addiction (the ones with the addictions do not attend Joseph's corner). Thank you to all families that supported this worthy cause, we were able to raise $133 dollars. I presented this to the team at Joseph's Corner and they were very appreciative.

Easter Hat Parade & Easter Raffle

Please see the Classroom & Curriculum page for an article and photos from the Easter Hat Parade. Congratulations to all winners of the Easter Raffle. Thank you to all families who donated so generously to the raffle, chocolate is not cheap this year and we really appreciate how generous you have been. Thank you also to all parents and students who gave of their time to sell the tickets each morning.
