Christ Centred School & Parish Community
On the final day of Term 1, the whole school came together to participate in Stories of the Cross, reflecting on the final days of Jesus' life. This year’s theme focused on courage—exploring not only the courage shown by Jesus, but also that of the many individuals who journeyed with Him to the Cross.
With the support of our Year 6 students, all classes engaged in meaningful experiences including listening to scripture, participating in mindful prayer, and reflecting through hymns.
We extend our sincere thanks to all students, staff, and families for the reverence and respect shown during this special and prayerful time.

Our Father in Heaven,
Look over and bless St. Augustine’s while we are working and playing.
Help us to respect and care for each other as you taught us to.
Give us the opportunity to do our best for you each day.
We look forward to being able to share our lives with our friends and families.
Keep us safe and give us the courage to be
people who want to know you more.
Amen.
Heavenly Father,
We give you thanks for this time together,
For the sacred gift of your Word, and for the countlessways we have encountered your son.
We thank You for the example of the Samaritan woman at the well, who came seeking water but found life in your presence.
Through her encounter with Jesus, she listened, believed, and became a witness to others.
Thank you for the moments in this time together where we, too, have experienced your living water –refreshing our hearts, opening our ears to Your voice, and renewing our spirits.
Lord Jesus,
May the encounters we have had here take root in our lives.
Give us courage to walk forward as witnesses of your love, to share the living water we have received, and to bring hope to those who thirst.
Amen.
Today, as we finish Term 1 and prepare to begin our Autumn Holidays, it is important to remember that we are in Holy Week, the Holiest time in the Church's year. Lent began way back on Ash Wednesday and finishes on Holy Saturday (the day before Easter Sunday). This gives us the 40 days or 6 weeks of Lent. Even though we name each Sunday during Lent as the 1st Sunday of Lent and so on, Sundays are not included in the count of the 40 days and are not days of fasting as all Sundays are a celebration of the day of the Resurrection. We have spent the days of Lent trying to improve ourselves, to live better lives by following in the footsteps of Jesus.
During Holy Week the Church follows Jesus even more closely through the remaining days and events of His earthly ministry - the Last Supper on Holy Thursday, His trial and crucifixion on Good Friday and His Resurection on Easter Sunday. I encourage all families of the Christian Faith to attend the Holy Week and Easter masses and services in their churches. The Holy Week and Easter timetable for St. Augustine's Parish (this includes Corpus Christi and Annunciation) is attached below.
For those families of the Orthodox Faith, you will celebrate Easter next weekend - Kalo Pascha. Christos Anesti!
